"Psychosocial" is a term of growing importance in developmental co-operation, humanitarian aid, crisis intervention and post conflict reconstruction. Psychosocial practice acknowledges the psychological dimension and social context in all projects. However, what "psychosocial" means is not always clear and as a result the development, implementation and evaluation of psychosocial projects is often challenging.
OPSI understands-from the inside-the needs and perspectives of donor institutions and recipient organisations, as members of our team have worked for both. We have acted as consultants to institutions, developed and delivered projects and programmes, as well as undertaken evaluations dealing with psychosocial work in varied socio-political contexts. We have integrated this experience into our approach. As a specialised group of consultants, we offer a range of professional services aimed at improving the practice of psychosocial work. |
